About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and driven candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Waste Management Officer.

The Waste Management officer will be responsible for providing a high level of administration and customer service at the Shire of Broome's Waste Management Facility. The ability to accurately assess incoming waste and correctly apply the Shire of Broome's Fees and charges.

This position is a permanent full-time position at the Shire of Broome's Waste Management Facility. The ideal candidate will need to be available to work weekends.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills including the ability to deal with agitated and/or difficult customers.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including excellent customer service skills to deal with agitated and/or difficult customers.
  • Knowledge of filing and records management.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • A demonstrated understanding of the principles of equal opportunity and, occupational health and safety.
  • Proven ability to contribute effectively to as a team player.
  • Experience in reconciling accounts, eftpos and cash transactions.
