About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated asset professional to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Asset Coordinator -Civil and Municipal Infrastructure. 

The Asset Coordinator – Civil and Municipal Infrastructure will be responsible for developing and managing asset management systems, programs, and long-term plans for civil and municipal infrastructure. This includes roads, drainage, footpaths, carparks, public open spaces, and more. The role will also coordinate maintenance and capital works programs, contribute to budget planning, and oversee contractors and consultants to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in asset management with a sound understanding of civil and municipal infrastructure, ideally within a local government setting. You’ll be confident in using asset management systems and databases, and capable of developing and implementing long-term maintenance and capital works programs.

You’ll have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, strong time management, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. Experience managing contractors, preparing technical specifications, and contributing to project planning and budgets will be essential.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in asset management and infrastructure planning

  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling software

  • High-level written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and consultants

  • White Card and a current unrestricted ‘C’ class driver’s licence

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Formal qualifications in asset or project management

  • Familiarity with GIS systems, RAMM or NAMS Plus

  • Knowledge of the Broome region and prior local government experience
