Job Description

About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Place Activation and Engagement Coordinator.

The purpose of this position is to coordinate a high standard of community development initiatives in line with the Shire of Broome’s Strategic Community Plan and achieve a range of outcomes to the broader community.

The Place Activation and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • The coordination and supervision of the Place Activation and Engagement team including overseeing the delivery of Community Safety Plan, Youth Plan, Community Events, Disability Access and Inclusion Plan and Every Club
  • Implementation of the Arts and Culture Strategy
  • Seeking grant funding for Place Activation and Engagement initiatives
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders and implementation of the Community Engagement Framework.

About You: 

Our ideal candidate will be well qualified with high level of experience:

  • Working in place activation and engagement
  • Seeking and securing grant funding
  • Project delivery and management
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • previous experience working in a related field in local government(desirable)

In addition to these skills, you will have the ability to build and create partnerships with stakeholders and experience managing teams.
