Job Description

About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Coordinator Financial Operations to join the Shire of Broome team to cover Long Service Leave from 4 May through to 16 October 2026.

The Coordinator Financial Operations will be responsible for: 

  • Day to day operations of the finance department including Creditors, Debtors, Rates, Banking, Plant Costings, Journals and Allocations.
  • Ensuring the timely completion of End of Month Processes including the reconciliation of the Balance Sheet Accounts.
  • Managing End of Year processes and participating in the gathering of information for the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements and the associated Audit.
  • Preparing Reports for Council Agenda
  • Preparing and reconciling Monthly Financial Statements including the Local Government specific Statement of Financial Activity.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • Qualifications in Accounting and experience in Local Government Accounting
  • Knowledge of ITVision SynergySoft Software
  • Ability to work closely with other Team members
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products, with knowledge of PowerBi
