Job Description

The purpose of the Pool Sampling Technical Officer - Environmental Health is to support members of the Environmental Health team in their field work by completing technical functions in environmental health with supervision from Environmental Health Officers. The role includes some tasks completed with direct supervision and some with indirect levels of supervision; as well as directly assisting the Environmental Health Officer with more complex or demanding tasks.

Our ideal candidate will have 

  • Well developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills including the use of computer programs as applicable to the position.
  • Well developed interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to accurately measure and record technical details as required of this position.
  • Ability to contribute effectively to the Directorate by being a team player with the capacity to complete work within timeframes and with limited supervision.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the principles of equal opportunity, occupational health and safety and other relevant legislation that ensure the safety of all people in the workplace
