About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Senior Asset Officer

The Senior Asset Officer will be responsible  to maintaining and enhancing asset management systems, databases, and processes across a diverse portfolio including roads, drainage, pathways, public open spaces, buildings, coastal infrastructure, street lighting, HVAC systems, car parks, bus facilities, and other community assets.  The Senior Asset Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of annual and 20-year maintenance, renewal and capital works programs, coordinate preventative maintenance activities, manage operational contracts, and oversee the Property Maintenance Officer. This position also plays a key role in asset lifecycle planning, budget development, contractor and consultant management, grant administration, policy development, performance monitoring, and the delivery of high-quality reporting and recommendations to management and Council.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in asset maintenance and a comprehensive understanding of long-term asset management practices across multiple asst categories. The role requires highly developed computer skills, including experience with asset management systems, database administration, spreadsheet and word processing applications, scheduling software, and computer-based estimating programs.
